These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Agreement”) govern your access to and use of OCR Files (also referred to as OCR Studio), including all features such as file upload, OCR, translation, export, and read-aloud. By using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Definitions

“Service” means the OCR Files website and related online tools.
“User”, “you” means any person who accesses or uses the Service.
“Operator”, “we”, “us” means the owner and administrator of OCR Files.
“Content” means files, images, PDFs, text, and other material you submit.
“Output” means text or files generated by the Service from your Content.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Description of the Service

OCR Files provides browser-based tools to extract text from images and PDFs, optionally translate text, export results in common formats, and generate English text-to-speech audio. Features, limits (such as file size or batch count), and availability may change at any time without prior notice. The Service is offered for general productivity and personal use unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Account and access

The Service may be used without registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and network. We may suspend or terminate access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Upload Content you do not have the right to process, or that is illegal, defamatory, or infringing
Upload malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or compromise our systems
Use automated scripts to overload the Service or scrape the site in a manner that harms performance
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law
Resell or commercially redistribute the Service without written permission
Use Output as a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial) without independent verification
Violate applicable export control, privacy, or intellectual property laws

6. Your Content and Output

You retain ownership of Content you submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, and transmit Content solely to operate the Service and provide Output to you. We do not claim ownership of your documents or extracted text.

You are solely responsible for reviewing Output for accuracy and suitability before relying on it. OCR and machine translation can produce errors, omissions, or misread characters, especially on low-quality scans, handwriting, or complex layouts.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws and remains the property of the Operator or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or trade names without prior written consent.

8. Free service and modifications

The Service is currently provided free of charge for end users, subject to fair-use limits. We may introduce fees, quotas, or premium features in the future with notice where required. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party APIs (including Mistral AI for OCR, translation, and speech), hosting providers, and (where applicable) advertising networks such as Google AdSense. Your use may be subject to those parties’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services linked from our site.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR OUTPUT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) TEN US DOLLARS (USD $10), IF YOU PAID NOTHING.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any third-party rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Operator’s jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a formal legal claim, you agree to contact us at maulik.dadhaniya1995@gmail.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

14. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Operator regarding the Service.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The effective date above will be updated when changes are posted. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
